Verteillac Village
In the Summer, Verteillac is a busy village, serving both locals and tourists. The village has all the facilities needed for daily shopping and a selection of bars and restaurants.
There are 3 cafés/bars, two of which offer WI-FI internet. There is also a bistro/pizza takeaway and a hotel with a restaurant.

Other facilities include:

  • Large general store (including food and drink)
  • Bank with a 24hr cash machine
  • Post office
  • Chemist, baker and butcher shops
  • Two antique shops
  • Art gallery
  • 10 minute drive to large hypermarket and petrol station

There are plenty of lovely villages to discover around the area such as the bustling market town of Ribérac, the Chateau topped town of Chalais, the idyllc town of Brantôme which is known as the Venice of the Dordogne, and the charming village of Bordeilles dominated by its Chateau.
Further afield you will find the lovely old town of Périgueux, the capital of the Dordogne. Just 40 minutes North of the house you will find the historic town of Angouleme, standing high on the rocks overlooking the Charente River.
Further South of the house you will find Bergerac and to the West the famous St. Emilion, a lovely medieval town set up on a hill and famous for its fine wines.
The area is full of lovely churches, historic Chateaux, bustling market towns, beautiful scenery with plenty of opportunity to enjoy the sporting outdoors.
